Lahny
Combat Application
Name: Beillahn Ymmillianna Rorotorinne
Race: Human
Affiliation: Pending Name Modeling Company, personal contacts
Base Stats
Aura: B
Beillahn's Aura reserves are remarkably massive, strikingly above average even in her lofty league.
Stamina: D
Without Granblue, Beillahn is able to keep fighting for hours before her body starts to flag; with Granblue, this is extended near-indefinitely.
Power: C
It became unnecessary for Beillahn to train herself to drastically increase her power with the advent of Granblue's advanced mechanisms. Even so, her ability to throw around her body is not to be dismissed.
Agility: A
Even without Granblue, Beillahn is a naturally fluid and lightweight person with excellent reflexes and speed. With, her ability to move grows into the abstract, able to reach speeds and perform vectoral shifts that boggle the mind.
Technical Skills
Technical Mastermind
Through both rigorous study and the simple experience building Granblue, Beillahn has become a genius-level builder, inventor, programmer, and mechanic. Simple to complex, combustion to electric, any machine is her domain, allowing understanding, operation, and modification to a mind-bogglingly vast array of machinery and devices. Combined with her Semblance, there is little in the techno-mechanical world that she cannot garner total control over.
Hunter of Hunters
Though her life as a Huntress began killing Grimm, Beillahn's expertise soon grew to encompass more than just red-eyed beasts. Those who would hunt Grimm sometimes also must be hunted, and Beillahn's skill set is equally tuned for hunting man as it is for hunting beast. Combined with a near-gratuitous understanding of sociology and psychology, Beillahn's adaptability grows with each conversation and interaction in which she participates.
Socio-Economist
Doing all of one's own marketing for many years grants something of a knack to a person; to say Beillahn is no exception to this rule would be incorrect, as she is certainly an exception in the level to which she has ascended. Market share, advertising, design space, branding, you name it—when it comes the economy of the world (and underworld), she has her finger on the pulse.
Money Is No Object
Through her wheelings and her dealings, Beillahn has come into vast wealth. Most of this is under the radar—you will not find her in Time Magazine's, "Top 10 Rich White Girls" articles or topping the charts at Forbes. Whether it is in her accounts, in her pockets, or in the pockets of someone she own or is owed by, the Heiress has not found herself wanting in many, many years.
Equipment
Beillahn spent many long, tired hours hunched over a work bench with wires and cogs during her academic career, and among the first things she built was what would eventually become the basis for Granblue: the mechanized arm she calls Fördernarme. One of two identical copies—one left-handed and one right-handed—and able to perform much more precise movements than her human arm could, linking it with her soul directly allowed her to work—quite literally—like a machine, greatly accelerating the prowess and efficiency of her building. It still took her a number of years to assemble the gear she now carries, but each and every one is a technological marvel in and of itself, carried with pride and competence. After building Staubenarme, a collapsible shield was installed on Fördernarme's elbow that shifted forward to mount on the forearm, matching the blade on its brother. Hooking the shield up to the network in Granblue allowed for it to be charged to fit a variety of defensive needs.
Each of Granblue's arms has a small modification within the arm called a Tinteschreiber. These small mechanisms are tattoo needles linked up to the dust reservoirs within the suit. Beillahn herself was never the most adept at raw dust manipulation, but her acute understanding of machines combined with more-than-merely-competent levels of dust use (plus many hours of study) allowed Beillahn to program a machine that could simulate that acute understanding. These needles are able to print dust-infused tattoos within her skin over the course of a few seconds for a single-use dust effect based on a variety of patterns and effects.
Staubenarme is the mirror to Fördernarme, typically worn on Beillahn's right arm, though it also has an identical copy to fit the left if needed. A number of complex mechanisms make this piece the primary weapons platform that she uses in battle. Focused dust projectors in the fingertips of the suit function as rapid-fire energy emitters while a larger, more powerful emitter in the wrist is fitted with an oculus that can be tuned to fit the situation: At its widest focus, it functions like a shotgun, spewing a blast of energy over a wide, short radius, while at its most narrow focus, it sends a pencil-thin beam out to marksman ranges, allowing for accurate long-range engagements. Running along the bottom edge of the arm is a blade that extends out past the elbow that can be pivoted forward to lock into place along the underside of the forearm. This blade contains dust channels to allow for a massive array of charges to be applied to the blade.
Flugstreke is the moniker given to the pair of greaves that attach to Granblue's chassis at the hip. Slender legs extend down to points that are fitted with hyper-efficient dust exhaust, allowing for stabilizing the flight granted to the frame by Engelvern. Gyroscopic stabilization allows for the suit to balance on the points of those legs, but the bottom twelve inches can also separate and fold into feet should the suit need to conserve power.
Engelvern attaches to the back of Granblue and grants the suit flight. More typically used for short dashes, single bursts from the thrusters are enough to give the suit a shocking degree of mobility and evasive capability; these short dashes are enough to blur the suit to the eyes, while its long-distance speeds outpace most military aircraft.
The helmet, Herzkopf, has a great deal of sensors and scopes built into its tactical visor, allowing for full-range view of the battlefield via field of view manipulation. Herzkopf is the housing for the suit's finer computers and sensors, as well as the home of Blau, the suit's on-board, dust-fueled artificial intelligence. Originally designed as a simple feedback program for all the data the suit took in, Beillahn eventually gave it a pseudo-personality and developed into a true AI, moving away from the ticks and tacks to a more pleasant, conversational version that, save for Felicia, is her best friend.
Granblue is the torso of the frame, the centerpiece, the namesake, and the contingent lynch-pin that turns a couple of mismatched pieces of artificed armor into a cohesive, well-rounded combat frame. It houses the dust reserves for the suit as well as the servos and mechanisms that interlock into each piece, also serving as a piece of armor that covers her chest. Its notable features include dust reserves; a percussive field generator in the chest that sends out a shockwave to disengage opponents who are a little too sticky for comfort; and an aura-linked life-support system that reads her base needs at the soul, setting broken bones, suturing wounds, and heating or cooling internal temperature, and compressing contusions. The back of the suit contains energy projectors linked up to Blau that passively detect incoming projectiles and intercept them with dust-powered anti-air lasers. When fully pieced together, the suit also gains a handful of secondary benefits. It seals and creates an internal environment safe from pressure, airborne toxins, and other environmental hazards; as well as insulates the pilot from rapid changes in forces due to either sudden velocity shifts or impact, via an internal impact-absorption layer.
With the finalization of its AI, Beillahn was able to program the suit to seek itself out via a very complex connection to her soul. As long as she has one piece of Granblue's linked within her Semblance, the other pieces can be summoned to her. If the torso is on her, a dummy torso loaded with a dust battery required for the flight is staged with the rest of the suit when Beillahn leaves it; else, an external fuel pod is attached so that the suit would not be drained of any of its reserves in transit. At her command, she can call for it to fly to her, oftentimes able to land within inches of her and immediately attach. It is not frequent that she is found without some number of its pieces on her person, but no matter which she is carrying at the time, the rest are always lying in wait for shOw time.
Semblance
BPN: Beillahn's Private Network
It was not by chance or happenstance that Beillahn found herself with an affinity for machines and constructs. The moment her Aura was unlocked, she felt a connection with those whirring mechanisms that surrounded her, and within days she had discovered the nature of her abilities and began honing them. BPN allows Beillahn to tap into machines and electronics around her and control them as naturally as an additional limb. Be they mechanical, electronic, combustion, or otherwise, the only difference she finds in different mediums is connection time. In familiar territory such as computers, gears and cogs, and engines, she is comfortable and can take over the entire machine in an instant; with more complex systems, it takes her only seconds—never more than a half a minute—to fully synchronize her mind with the object in question to assume control.
When linked to a machine, Lahny can not only control it, but also gains passive benefits based on the capabilities of the machine she has taken over. For instance, if she links herself to a personal video camera with night vision technology, she can switch that vision on and off in her own eyes; or, if a computer has a particularly powerful chipset, she can take on those benefits to increase her own reaction time and processing speed; or, if a machine has a global positioning sensor contained within, she can use it to gain absolute knowledge of her location. So long as she remains linked with the object, she can gain those benefits.
As long as an object is within her line of sight, she perceive it and understand its mechanisms: Her Semblance will sense objects well before her eyes or ears will if she is looking for them, making her aware of things within her purview before her physical senses catch up. Once inside a comfortable range of fifty (50) yards, she is able to cast her Semblance into the object and make her connection, whether that be a slow infiltration over the course of fifteen to thirty seconds or a substantially faster brute-force intrusion—neither are more noticeable within the system, but the speed and Aura cost of the methods differs. This line of sight, while short, can be drawn from herself or from any piece of Granblue currently in her network.
When an object is within a much closer ten (10) yard radius, however, she can sense those objects much more keenly and tap into them without the need to see them: She simply senses a running machine and casts herself into it. The physical exertion to using this ability is almost nonexistent, though it does take a section of her focus to perform. Holding a conversation is possible, but there is a definite split in her attention, making the brute-force method much more viable when she is under duress.
When able to come into physical contact with a machine and concentrate for a moment, Beillahn can link it to herself and form a closed network of machines that she can sense and access within a much larger distance. When within fifty (50) miles of any BPN-linked object, she can access it via her Semblance as if it were immediately on hand.
While profound, the Semblance does have its limitations. She can simply throw herself at something with a larger cost to forcibly take it over, but with a finer touch, it is possible for her to more slowly take over very complex things with a lower drain to her reserves. She cannot cast through Aura, so an Aura-user and their personal equipment are immune to possession until their Aura is low enough to burst. Using any of her connected objects imposes a slow but steady drain on her Aura relative to their complexity and power, and any objects that she fully commits to her permanent network decrease her maximum Aura pool by committing a section of her Aura to its upkeep.
Having an object in her network does not impose any active drain on her current Aura reserves; accessing very simple or very familiar objects is close to effortless, imposing such a minimal drain of Aura that her natural regeneration not only keep up but outpaces it, allowing for indefinite, continuous access of those devices. The more complex or foreign a device is, the harder it drains on her reserves. At its highest drain, it uses close to ten (10) percent of her maximum Aura reserves per minute, encouraging her to get the job done efficiently when controlling the most difficult of devices. There is no limit to the number of devices she can be linked to at a time, but actively controlling them becomes a case of rubbing your belly and patting your head and rolling your ankle all at once—it is possible, but it takes more concentration as she adds more to her consciousness.
