Minette is a woman that many would describe as quite beautiful; monumentally tall, generously curvy, fair skinned, with long auburn hair that shimmers like gold and piercing crimson eyes. She's certainly that, but make no mistake - she is a huntress through and through. Her long and flowing clothes do wonders to accentuate her curves while also hiding a good portion of her toned legs, arms, and shoulders. Minette is quite muscular, certainly someone who cuts an intimidating figure in more fitted clothes, but not quite so much that she can't hide it with a little extra effort. A pair of soft, fairly large brown cat ears sit atop her head.
Out and about, especially at Beacon, Minette prefers to look the part of an everyday person rather than one of the world's elite warriors. She wears a long, crimson dress over a wide-cuffed pale blouse, both of which are trimmed with black along the edges, and a black shawl that hangs around her shoulders with a red brooch on the front.
Her combat attire is something she wears beneath her normal attire, for the sake of convenience. A black, sleeveless high-collar tee, fit snugly and cut to her midriff, and a pair of black shorts made of breathable fabric that hugs her legs gently, that reach down just past her knees, with slits in the sides right at the knee that lead down to split the cuffs, trimmed white. A pair of dark brown wrap sandals adorn her feet, with a surprising amount of support and stability despite how thin they are. It is comfortable, and surprisingly durable, with minimal signs of wear and tear.

Minette grew up in Menagerie in the time before the revolution, raised in an overpopulated nation brewing with quiet rage. This showed through to her most notably in her parents. Her mother was a field medic, with a recent injury forcing her into an early retirement. Her father was a veteran hunter, still strong, still proud, and still angry even years after the war. They were a downtrodden and tired family that wanted to move on with their lives and finally find some peace, but the fragile state of their new home in the aftermath of the war made such impossible. Minette considered the twisting, crowded streets to be her home, and it hurt her to see its people in such a state.
When she showed a knack for athleticism, and after growing a particular fondness for the exhilarating playful spars with her father, it was decided that he would train Minette in the ways of combat. They wanted their daughter to have a better life. Minette fought with no weapons, using her natural strength and agility to hone the techniques that her equally unarmed father had used in his own career, leveraging this against the bolstering power of her semblance to turn her into a truly fearsome fighter.
Her mother went through a back channel from her days in the war to pull some strings to get Minette to apply for a Beacon scholarship, which was accepted after a bit of negotiating. She was hounded for her heritage, even in this progressive community, but found solace in her teammates. They were humans, but they were supportive and kind, if a bit too curious. The sense of community they developed amongst themselves helped Minette quickly catch up to the other students after her barely adequate early education. She developed a knack for it over time. Her school years helped her improve herself in a way she hadn’t been able to before, though it was fairly uneventful aside. The four of them continued to do missions together even after they graduated.
When the war came, Minette fought alongside her friends for the sake of her people and her family. The war was a bloody, gruesome conflict that the four of them were not at all emotionally prepared for. The conflict itself claimed two of her friends. She and the last remaining survivor did their best to continue on after they returned and the treaty was signed, but they were not the same people. Her friend disappeared only a few short days after the two went back to Vale. Two weeks later, she found his name in the obituary section of a newspaper.
Minette turned to liquor and dangerous, grueling work to drown her sorrows and her memories. The weight of her perceived failure took its toll on her mentally and emotionally, draining her of everything until she became a husk of her former self. Convinced that she was no longer worthy of being a Hunter, she quietly sought to work herself to death.
At her lowest point, Beacon offered her a teaching position in the absence of their now-retired psychology teacher and counselor, whom they were unable to find an adequate replacement for. Initially, she was going to decline. But one of the teachers, an old friend of hers, took her out to a bar shortly afterwards. They talked long into the night, reflecting on the war, on their old lives, on the people they weren’t able to save.
Through this commiserating, she was convinced to take the position. She wouldn’t let these kids end up like her. After the others helped her prepare for the job, Minette found the work engaging and fulfilling in a way nothing else before had quite been. With her days now spent in service to teaching, and her time occupied by her work, she gradually brought herself back up from the nothingness.
When the headmaster retired as well, he chose Minette to watch over the school in his stead. She still serves as a counselor to the students, and sometimes to staff as well, though her work as a headmaster has since occupied too much of her time to continue teaching psychology. With five years under her belt, Minette Belrose continues to as the headmaster of Beacon Academy.
